Manor House of the Natera family
(Current Popular Athenaeum)
A typical example of a stately home built in 1777 for D. Luis Natera, the head of this family of ancient ancestry in the town. Distributed around a central courtyard, it has a baroque façade with a lintel arch flanked by pilasters superimposed in relief and topped by a convex cartouche whose lines are followed by the balcony.
It currently houses the headquarters of the Popular Athenaeum, an institution founded in 1925 to promote science and culture in the town, without distinction of social classes and in which illustrious local figures such as Manuel Alba left their mark. The poet Ricardo Molina was made an honorary member of the Athenaeum in 1952.
